Description Our organic witch hazel is harvested from a wild crop native to the woodlands of New England. It is naturally distilled with only 14% natural grain alcohol to provide the highest level of potency and purity. Most commercial products contain much more alcohol and very little witch hazel. The low alcohol formulation of our extract makes it more beneficial and less drying. The witch hazel plant (Hamamelis virginiana) has been long revered for its medicinal properties. Native Americans used it to fight swelling, sores and infections, but research has since revealed many other uses. It is rich in tannins (or tannic acid) and polyphenols, giving it its powerful astringent, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.
