When a child takes their first communion it is an event for the whole of the family. Relatives are invited, photos are taken and whilst the essence of the true celebration should not be forgotten, of course, as with any fine celebration, there’s Cake!  Gilly has never forgotten her own first communion where she wore a white communion dress and veil with brand new red patent leather and suede shoes. Red patent leather shoes are still part of Gilly’s wardrobe and, although now with higher heels and more elegant, they often come out for an important event! This pure silk first  dress can be made in ivory or white or any of the 140 silk colours that we work with. Please see the silk swatch cards and send us an email with your postal address and the reference numbers for the silks that you would like to see and we’ll post them out to you.  This flower girl dress is fully lined with a lace sash and embroidered lace trimming at the hem. The bodice has a button back and a wide silk skirt. As we make all of our dresses to order we can make any changes to the styles including puff sleeves or elbow length sleeves, if you prefer.
